Joyce graduated from Seattle Pacific University in 1977. She received her M Div from San Francisco Seminary in 1981, and since 2005 to the present is a candidate for her D Min at Princeton Theological Seminary.

The Transitional Executive search team had these words to share about their nomination of Rev. Emery:During the interview process, it was clear to us that Joyce was seeking to follow God's will.

Joyce will be joining the Synod staff on July 23, 2007.
