Plantinga is is a contemporary American philosopher known worldwide for his work in epistemology, metaphysics, and philosophy of religion. Despite being a professor at a traditionally Catholic university, he is a Calvinist. His daughter, Rev. Jane Plantinga Pauw, is pastor of Rainier Beach Presbyterian Church.
