Mission Challenge '07
Friday, August 31, 2007 (59 reads)

The Reverend Jane Holslag will be the guest of the Seattle PW from October 19 to October 26 as part of the Mission Challenge ’07 program which will send missionaries all over the country to explain to congregations the need for financial support for those laboring in the field for Christ through the Presbyterian Church (USA). The Seattle CCT accepted this challenge when the Seattle Presbytery Committee on Mission was unable to do so.

The purpose of the Mission Challenge ’07 program is “to forge new relationships in order to life up the importance of world-wide mission, to increase PC(USA) understanding of the needs of the mission field, and to enhance the sense of support for our mission workers.” At the present time of the 11,000 congregations that make up PC(USA) only about 1,500 are in a relationship of direct support of a PC(USA) missionary.
