Responsibilities:

• Develop a ministry geared towards UPC’s single adult population (30+) that integrates them into the community and is attentive to their unique disciple journey to include classes, an annual retreat and service opportunities.
• Shepherd, advise and encourage the lay led existing groups currently ministering to singles (Putting Christ First, Beyond Divorce, Single Parent Fellowship).
• Partner with the Associate Director of Small Groups/Communications in the development of small group ministry at UPC.
• Work with the Ministry Coordinator of Discipleship Communities, the Associate Director of Small Groups/Communications and other relevant parties in creating a holistic strategy for community development.
• Along with other members of the Community Life staff, create and execute a plan to develop and encourage a leadership community of those engaged in discipleship ministry to adults. 
• Explore possibilities for new community development initiatives.
• Fulfill other assignments designated by the Pastor of Community Life.

Hours:  Full time benefited position; Mon. – Fri., 8-5 (occasional evenings and weekends).

Qualifications/Skills and Knowledge Requirements:
• Commitment to Jesus Christ and the ministry and mission of the Community Life Department and UPC.
• Servant’s heart to enable discipleship and welcome all those with whom you come in contact. 
• Demonstrated previous experience in ministry.
• Proven leadership skills and an ability to think strategically.
• Demonstrated strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills.  Speaking and teaching experience desirable.
• Demonstrated ability to build strong working relationships with a variety of people across departments and between groups.
• Experience in developing and motivating volunteers/lay leaders.
• Fluency in Microsoft Office applications.

Salary:
Commensurate with ability and experience and equitable within the UPC salary structure.
